GREAT VALLEY CENTER COMMISSIONS MATTHEW FRYE TO CREATE
CUSTOM ART NOUVEAU TILE
--- CLOVIS, CA: (January 3, 2003)--Matthew Frye & Company, whose
focus is creating fine art and original tile designs, announced
today an agreement to create custom art nouveau tile for Great Valley
Center, a private, non-profit, and non-partisan organization working
to make the California’s central valley a better place to
live. Under the terms of the agreement, Matthew Frye & Company
will be designing and creating original Art Nouveau Tiles based
on traditional Art Nouveau designs for all the kitchens and bathrooms
and main staircases.
The goal of the project is to introduce an Art Nouveau look that
would compliment the restoration of an Art Deco building (1920)
and evoke images of the California Central Valley. To achieve Great
Valley Center's design goals, Matthew Frye referenced traditional
Art Nouveau publications for style and incorporated indigenous motifs
such as: red squirrel, California Quail, and California Poppy, which
reflects the California Central Valley’s animal and fauna
life.
Great Valley Center plans to move into the newly restored building
in the Spring of 2003.
